Sawadee- Land of Smiles

Finally, this very day has arrived. We are finally flying off to Bangkok for our short getaway. I had a long break and I managed to give away my Osaka flight which supposed to be returning on the day I'm flying off for Bangkok.

My kiasu friends who never been to airport requested to meet very early and slack. So I left house about 2am when I need to be in the airport @ 5.15am only.

Taken before I left home for Airport.
Outfit of the day
Top: Uniqlo, Japan
Short: Cotton on
Belt: Singapore

We had our late dinner/supper at Wangs. Chit chat and talk cock before heading over to T1 to rot somemore. After check-in, we went to shop. The guys were taking their own sweet time choosing which cigs they want to get. While Cindy and I headed to look at Chanel's. After shopping, we headed to Burger King to have Breakfast. I didn't eat anything since I had mine earlier on.

Gary and myself in the plane before take off.

We slept throughout the flight as everyone is tired. But the people around us are irritating. TALKING NON-STOP. When I say non-stop, is really throughout the whole flight. Damn!

Landed in Bangkok. All of us went to Boots to get whatever we need, then went to smoke and off to Pratunum for A&W! They should just open one outlet in the airport. After our lunch, all of us headed back to hotel. Since we stay different hotel, we went separate ways.

So I booked Bangkok City Hotel together with Gary. If you're on budget and looking for something nice and up to standard, you may want to take a look at this hotel. I took some picture of my room to share with my readers.

 Toilet- Take 2

I had the whole room to myself and Gary's room is just one day away from mine. The room is nice and clean but I did find some dead insects in my room. The room service is good and house keeping did a good job in cleaning up. My friends came over my room on the second night and mess up. The next morning, I need the housekeeping team to clean up, so I press the housekeeping sign and went out. When I came back, I still smell the cig smell but my room is really clean. Top-ed up with 2 bottle of water daily, cleaned toilet, fresh and clean toilet.  Thank you bangkok City hotel for the wonderful service.

Kawai thumbdrives
Shopping in Bangkok used to be awesome but not anymore. I hardly able to find something that catch my attention. Seriously, is time to change a shopping place for my next trip. If I were to go bangkok again, it will be for massage and the food.

Yummy, garlic fried rice

I had two meals at Fuji. I really love the food and also the price. If you haven't try, you should so try it when you are there. There's one outlet at Platinum mall.

Sorry for the limited pictures. I didn't take much pictures.

Two days away

I'm just two days away to fly over to Bangkok with my kakis. They are the one who I could text whenever I'm bored and needed someone to rot with. We can sit down at coffee shop and literally do nothing. Having last minute impromptu prawning session at Bishan/Punggol. It's probably going to be a picture-less post because they don't take photos.

I've no idea how did we started getting together as a group and heading out to chill together. And finally, we planned on a holiday trip together. The thing about this trip is that all my kakis are guys and they snore very very very badly so I want my own room. And when we were planning, all of them have a friend coming along and decided to stay different hotels. How weird right? Going together but yet, we are all staying different hotels. HAHA!

So I'm going to be staying at The Bangkok City with Gary. I was in charged of getting their airticket and also getting Gary and myself a good and cheap hotel. So I went to do research and by the time I want to get the hotels nearby Platinum Mall, is quite fully booked. I was disappointed. Thank God I managed to find this hotel which is actually a little distance away from Platinum but still, good and cheap! It's newly open( less than 2 years) so I assume that everything will be good and still brand new. I'm looking forward to this short getaway. Finally I don't have to work my ass off before I get to my destination.

I'm really looking forward for this short holiday trip. My yearly routine to go Bangkok for holiday. Maybe a change for next year? I'll see how.

I'll blog about my trip when I return.

Day 2 and day 3

Most of the time spending of money in platinum mall because there is the best places to shop and I can't think of anywhere else. Visited MBK for awhile and went back to our area to shop.

Day 3 was at weekend market. Met up with friends there and got my luggage. Not much loots there as it was burning hot! And after that, headed to Siam area to eat and look look. Headed back hotel in the evening and off to Chinatown for supper! We chose the Chinese restaurant which was quite pricey! But still, mainly there to eat shark fin and bird nest. All should try. Nothing much. Pictures will do the talk!

Sorry for the late update! I haven't been free to update because of work. Please follow me on my twitter for the latest update! :)

LAND OF SMILES - DAY 1

Yes, I'm back from Bangkok. My flight landed in Singapore around evening and I think it was on time throughout including the flight there. I recommend to take Thai Airway!

It was a short holiday to compare to my previous trip there because I would normally choose to take the first flight there and last flight back. But this trip, I took the afternoon flight there and took early afternoon flight back!

I was stuck at the immigration for a super long period as the officers were freaking slow and the amount of people waiting is a lot! I was seriously tired of waiting and my bag was heavy! But I bear with it, and then took the BTS to nearest station to my hotel. As I was familiar with the places I am going, I suggested the BTS. My advice to traveler to Bangkok is that, if possible, try to avoid taking the taxi or tuktuk. Bangkok's traffic is bad so if you do not wish to be caught in the traffic take the MRT or BTS.

So reached my hotel super late and the shopping malls are already close. Resulted Colleen and me to shop somewhere nearby Hotel!

Pad Thai for Dinner (30baht)

A must try in bangkok! Can be found everywhere in Bangkok. I will always want to try the roadside food more than anywhere else but I know it isn't clean because all the dust flying around. Still, must try! We got fruit and some other snacks and that was our dinner.

Before we headed back to hotel, we went over to Family Mart and seven eleven to get some snack and drinks. We ended our first day with no shopping :(

* Day 2,3 and 4 will be up soon. Sorry for the delay!
